The establishment of the Yueyang Chenglingji Comprehensive Bonded Zone was given formal approval by the State Council of China on 5th July 2014. The plan area is 2.98 square kilometers, and the Institute of Shanghai Architectural Design and Research Co. Ltd. (ISAarchitecture) will be responsible for the formulation of plans. A total of 5 billion yuan is invested into the project, which will undergo two phases of construction development. The first phase spans 1.5 square kilometers, with 3 billion yuan invested, mainly constructing a customs clearance service centre, a customs inspection zone, a grain and oil storage zone, a cold-chain storage zone, a cold-chain processing zone, and 500 thousand square meters of standardized factory floorspace.
